Join the fifth edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting in

Split, Croatia!

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is proud to announce the fifth edition of the Erasmus Generation Meeting (EGM), Europe’s premier gathering for students, Higher Education Representatives, and stakeholders dedicated to international mobility and youth engagement. Next year’s EGM will be held from the 16th to the 19th of April 2026 at the Sveučilište u Splitu in Split, Croatia.

As the largest student-led conference of its kind, this year’s edition of EGM provides a unique platform for the Erasmus Generation to explore how skills and competences are enhanced through volunteering and student-led mobility, while increasing the visibility and recognition of student engagement among key stakeholders. Under the central theme of "Shaping Skills through Student Mobility", it will bring together over 1000 participants from across Europe and beyond to foster dialogue, exchange ideas, and work collectively to enhance international experiences and promote equal participation.

EGM Split 2026 is built around two central pillars:

  • Development of Competences through Volunteering and Student-led Mobility: it focuses on how student engagement, including participation in volunteering and student mobility, contributes to the development of competences, empowering youth to grow personally and professionally. By participating in impactful activities and international opportunities, students develop a range of skills, such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, intercultural understanding, and digital literacy. This process supports student-centred learning and flexible learning pathways, allowing individuals to shape their development journeys based on interests, needs, and aspirations. It also highlights the importance of ensuring quality and inclusive mobility opportunities, while recognising the diverse mobility formats and programmes through which students and youth can gain valuable skills and competencies.

  • Impact and Recognition of Student Engagement: it highlights the importance of recognising and validating the skills and competences acquired through student mobility and volunteering experiences. It emphasises the need to ensure that the professional value of these experiences is acknowledged by institutions, employers, and society. It also supports the academic recognition of learning outcomes and qualifications from international mobility, reinforcing the role of formal, non-formal and informal learning in shaping the competences of the Erasmus Generation.

The event will future an Opening Ceremony, a Flag Parade as a celebration of unity in diversity, daily plenary sessions, smaller interactive sessions, and the EGM Expo, for institutional and commercial partners to engage directly with participants, promote mobility and new opportunities for our volunteers.

With over 100 sessions, participants will explore topics such as youth engagement, skill development through international experiences, and intercultural dialogue, sharing best practices and collaborating on solutions. This learning environment allows stakeholders and volunteers to strengthen the recognition of competences gained through student involvement while highlighting the positive impact of active participation on society and higher education.

Higher Education Institutions, National Agencies, European Institutions, and Civil Society Organisations are invited to register for the conference through this link. To stay informed about the upcoming announcements, make sure to follow our LinkedIn and Facebook events.
